Who We Are
Avalon-Prospect Park is a Rule 31, handicap-accessible facility located on University Avenue in Minneapolis. As an outpatient clinic, we provide treatment services for adult men with co-occurring chemical health and mental health disorders.

Who We Help
Adult men who have a diagnosis of chemical abuse or chemical dependency, and a co-occurring mental health diagnosis. The mental health diagnosis may be Axis I, Axis II, or both.

How We Help
Avalon utilizes a diverse therapeutic approach with an emphasis on cognitive/behavioral talk therapy. We believe in the power of thinking and the impact it has on positive choices and behavior. We achieve this through compassion, respect and a step-down model of programming.

Our long-term goal for men is to instill positive thought, inner strength and a new lease on life through abstinence from all chemicals of abuse and cooperation with psychiatric recommendations. Every man is unique and every program is designed to best meet his needs, goals and personality.

About Our Program
Our customized program is not designed to provide primary treatment to men with serious and persistent mental illness, however these services are offered as an adjunct to mental health care. This program is methadone friendly.

Our program capacity is unlimited, and staffing levels may be adjusted according to individual needs. Historically, our program has served an average of eight men in the high intensity phase and 20 in the low intensity phase at any given time.

Our services include:
• Screening & assessment
• Referral
• Individual & group therapy
• Psychiatric evaluation - as needed
• Psychological evaluation - as needed
